The image is a stillt from a fully copyrighted film which the uploader posted as being in the public domain. The 1931 film is fully protected by copyright law. The original novel is in the public domain but not the 1931 film which is the intellectual property of Universal Pictures. 2601:543:4380:3A10:8019:66EE:3C9F:1147 04:04, 14 May 2021 (UTC)
Kept: The full motion picture is copyrighted, but the image was derived from a promotional trailer published in the US between 1926 and 1977 without a copyright notice (as was typical before the mid-1960s). Due to copyright requirements that existed at the time, said trailer is in the public domain. I’ve re-added the appropriate tag to the file’s description. —David Levy 04:58, 14 May 2021 (UTC)
