(First four images) Mickey Mouse first appeared in Steamboat Willie, which is still copyrighted until January 1, 2024. Thus Mickey is a copyrighted character, and by COM:CHARACTER, even if the images are in the public domain or freely licensed, the images are still copyrighted.
(Last image) Snoopy first appeared in October 4, 1950 on a comic strip. Thus the character is copyrighted until January 1, 2046. Although the image may be freely licensed, the characters themselves are not.--FunnyMath (talk) 18:51, 29 July 2020 (UTC)

- Comment Mickey Mouse is a copyrighted character, we all know that. But is Snoopy a copyrighted character ? It's not automatically the case of any character. And then, why this image and not all pictures where Snoopy is represented ? --TwoWings * to talk or not to talk... 10:06, 30 July 2020 (UTC)
- The English Wikipedia article for Snoopy contains images of Snoopy, all of which (except for the last one) are used under fair use. See [1]. It is safe to assume that the character is copyrighted and that the comic strip that introduced Snoopy has their copyright renewed. FunnyMath (talk) 18:24, 30 July 2020 (UTC)
- It is a good question why not all drawings of Snoopy are given a DR. My reasoning is that most of those drawings were works of the US federal government and thus can bypass COM:CHARACTER, though I could be wrong on that one. It would be interesting to see the DR discussions for any US federal government drawings of copyrighted characters. A few others are graffitis of Snoopy, which I am also unsure of. - Delete all per nomination. The second one could be cropped to just Walt Disney, while the first one was taken from a file that was deleted already (File:Mickey Mouse Poster.jpg). -BRAINULATOR9 (TALK) 18:35, 4 August 2020 (UTC)
