We've taken a look at the countries where young people are the happiest, and unhappiness in America according to Gallup's 2024 World Happiness Report, and now it's time to see where older people are the happiest.

Here's the top 20 ranking of where people above 60 are enjoying their lives.

The usual suspects on all world happiness lists β€” and this one β€” Denmark and Finland, rank first and second on this list too, followed by Norway. Fellow European countries Sweden (fourth), Iceland (fifth) and the Netherlands (seventh) also placed quite highly compared to every other continent.

Unlike the youths of America, elderly people in the US are much happier. The United States placed 10th among the happiest places for older people, whereas it didn't even make the top 20 when it comes to younger people. Alongside the US (which ranked 23rd overall), the only other nation on this list ranked outside the top 20 overall was the UAE, which ranked 22nd overall and 11th for older folks.
