This Home Was Designed By A Student Of Frank Lloyd Wright's Prairie School. Take A Look Inside
Built in 1926, this home in Decatur, Illinois, was designed by architect Frank Weber, a student of the Prairie School of architecture that was pioneered by Frank Lloyd Wright in Chicago in the late 19th century.
The unique property — which, according to the listing, was one of Decatur's first fully electric homes — is currently on the market for a very reasonable $329,900.
With striking arched doorways, decorative windows and original murals, the 4,241-square-foot residence "embodies elements of California arts and crafts" and "Mediterranean and Arabic architectural styles."
My favorite part of the house is the mint-green sun room, which comes complete with an indoor cherub fountain — because why not?
As well as the home's four bedrooms and three bathrooms, there's a spacious dining room, a large kitchen and study awash with natural light.
Finally, the property sits on 0.75 acres of land, so there's a pretty sizable back yard that's perfect for hosting barbecues, summer dinners and garden parties.
